At the prestigious Learning Technologies Awards 2025, the MOME × Telekom collaboration has been shortlisted in the category Best Use of Blended Learning – Commercial Sector. The awards were presented at a grand gala evening on 12 November. Developed in 2024, the alternative training programme titled Data Experiment set out to explore how abstract data can be transformed into a personal, immersive learning experience.
The MOME Directorate for Grants and Development has closed an outstanding year, securing multimillion-euro funding for a diverse range of research projects, including AR Symposium, Zenctuary VR+, and Waterside Voices. These projects span fields as diverse as urban development, nature conservation, contemporary dance, and the application of cutting-edge VR technology in healthcare. For the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME), bringing its projects to life to address the complex challenges of the 21st century is a top priority. As state funding is becoming increasingly scarce, securing and effectively utilising grant opportunities has emerged as a critical strategic focus.
What therapeutic effect could a beautiful virtual walk through nature or immersive gardening have? This is one of the questions explored by the Zenctuary VR+ project, led by Ágnes Karolina Bakk PhD within the FutureCare Lab at MOME, which has secured nearly 1 million euros in funding through the HU-rizont grant programme of the National Research, Development, and Innovation Office. Developed for healthcare facilities, this virtual natural environment aims to serve both rehabilitative and diagnostic purposes, improving patient care and the quality of life for the elderly, promoting recovery, and reducing the workload of healthcare professionals.
What does it mean to be a responsible fashion designer, and what role does education play in this regard? What influences are most apparent in the work of the latest generation of designers? Each year, the Fashion and Textile Design programme at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) hosts a Fashion Show, showcasing the work of its graduating students and alumni which not only hold aesthetic value but also convey powerful social and cultural messages. This time, the entire visual concept of the show was designed by students, while the alumni community is represented by the latest collection of the THEFOUR brand, which has recently opened their own store.
Launched jointly by the Foundation for Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and the University, the Aurum Futuri Excellence Awards have been presented for the second time in MOME’s history. This year’s recipients are lead instructor of the Mobility Design specialisation András Húnfalvi, and head and lead researcher of the Immersion & Interaction Hub Ágnes Karolina Bakk PhD.
Events
In line with the best practices of international fashion schools and in sync with international fashion weeks, the MOME FASHION SHOW will once again take place this year, under the professional direction of Kele Ildikó and Viola Balázs. The MOME Fashion Show aims to provide a platform for the university's fashion, textile, and costume design students, introducing the next generation of designers to a broader audience.
The two-day event will explore the latest trends and breakthroughs in material design, covering both traditional crafts and cutting-edge technologies.
How does artificial intelligence (AI) shape the future of design, the creative process, and communication? In today's digital landscape, our interpretation and perception of the world around us and the interactions we are involved in is increasingly influenced by AI, and so this essential technology will be the focus of a conference organised by the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) with authoritative experts.
