How does a student project make it from the initial design to a Red Dot submission? A strong concept is only part of the equation. It also takes dedicated mentors and a carefully crafted submission that brings the project’s genuine innovation to the fore. In 2026, five projects by MOME Design MA students once again received Red Dot Awards in the Design Concept category. SPIN, CAREFILL, BUBI-KART, KENGURU, and ATLAS each rethink how the systems and objects that shape urban life could work in the future.
How can personal experiences, social phenomena, and material experimentation become the foundations of new design worlds? What do we make of the moment when one important chapter of life comes to an end? On 3 September, the spotlight once again turns to MOME's newest fashion graduates as the MOME Fashion Show 2026 returns to the MOME Campus. The show features collections by graduates of Textile Design BA and the Fashion and Textile Design MA, accompanied by an exhibition. This year’s works explore personal and social experiences of transformation, the ways in which traditions live on, the relationship between natural and artificial systems, and the role of fashion in shaping identity.

Rome’s graffiti, talking statues, and other features of public spaces provided the framework for MOME’s exhibition Site Inspection. The showcase brings together works developed by the first group of students of the university’s Rome residency programme, organised in partnership with the Hungarian Academy in Rome. In July 2025, six graduating students from MOME and the first lead of the programme, media artist and associate professor Miklós Erhardt DLA were hosted at the Palazzo Falconieri in Rome. The works developed from the research and creative projects they began in Rome are now on view in the city.
