The Media Design MA programme prepares students to become – as multimedia designers – key players and leaders in creating media artworks, as well as in the creative processes of the creative, entertainment, and advertistement industries, media arts, and applied visual design.
Students can develop a design approach, individual style, strategic thinking and a wide range of skills that are focused on innovation, initiative, individual problem solving, strategy building and team leadership.
The second year is mostly dedicated to the creation of the diploma works, with full institutional support from idea development to final implementation, relying on the state-of-the-art technological facilities of MOME’s studios.

This year, the MOME community celebrated the graduates of twelve MA and nine BA courses in a festive ceremony. Speeches were given by interior designer Mrs. Bánki née Laura Szerdahelyi, one of our jubilee graduates, who turns 91 this year and designed the interiors of Déli Railway Station; Curator and László Moholy-Nagy’s grandson Daniel Hug; and designer Stefan Lengyel, who is celebrating a milestone anniversary this year. In addition to conferring the degrees, this year’s Rector’s Special Awards and several professional awards were announced, and the Gold, Diamond and Iron jubilee graduates also received their certificates.
Milyen történeteket őriznek a BKV talált tárgyai, hogyan lehet örömteli tárgyakat tervezni látássérült embereknek, mit kezd a design a digitális beleegyezés vagy a tradwife-esztétika kérdéseivel, és hogyan válhat a városi lakhatás és a holokausztoktatás diplomamunka-témává? A Moholy-Nagy Művészeti Egyetem 2026-os mestermunkái idén is arról adnak képet, mi foglalkoztatja a pályára lépő alkotó-tervező generációt: a kiállított munkák személyes nézőpontból közelítenek társadalmi, környezeti és technológiai kihívásokhoz.
The next episode of our Q&Alumni series has arrived! – This time, we sat down with Anna Rubi, MOME Media Design alumna. Anna is one of Hungary’s leading media artists, whose outstanding work has earned her numerous recognitions throughout her career – including the MOME Best of Media Design Award this June, granted by the department in acknowledgement of her exceptional artistic achievements. In our conversation, she shared her experiences from her university years, reflected on what MOME has given her, and talked about her award-winning documentary ‘Life Without You’. Anna also discussed why she considers creative block to be a kind of “luxury.”

What’s the science behind cuteness? How might we rethink bulky waste collection in Budapest, or even redesign a fruit dryer? What does it mean to reconnect with nature, and is it really necessary to store the endless streams of data we’re generating today? These are just some of the questions addressed by the masterworks featured in the 2025 Diploma Exhibition of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME). This year’s graduates explore global and societal challenges through the lens of design and art, with works spanning four major themes: the climate crisis, social innovation, dignified care and healthcare, and the future of cultural heritage in an ever-accelerating world.
