Our Animation BA programme focuses on the development of professional and theoretical knowledge and an individual vision, covering the essentials of animation storytelling, the authentic representation of characters, and the design of animated visuals, characters and backgrounds.
The project-based programme involves students completing at least one production per semester, and typically alternates individual and group development. By the end of the programme, they will have their own portfolio and be prepared for moving on to our Animation MA or starting their careers.
Our students will be able to leverage their knowledge of various animation techniques to work as animators and designers in animated film production, as well as in film, television and communication projects using the forms of expression of the genre.

Following its selection for the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, one of the world's leading animation events, the latest work of Hungarian animation is set for another prestigious regional showcase. Márk László's diploma film Bonefuzz will continue its festival run in the competition programme of the Sarajevo Film Festival. The filmmaker, who graduated from MOME’s Animation MA programme in 2025, previously saw the film shortlisted for the graduation film competition at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Inspired by a work of literature, the film explores the inner world of a hearing-impaired boy, taking audiences to a gothic warehouse concert.
Two MOME Anim diploma films have been shortlisted for this year’s CEE Animation Forum. Abigél Dérczy’s How to Become a Landlord and Petra Lili Szilágyi’s At Least the Weather Is Nice will premiere this November in Plzeň, Czechia. The European animation forum provides animation projects at various stages of development and production with opportunities to secure funding, find co-production partners, and gain international exposure.
