Focused on nurturing talents from disadvantaged backgrounds, the programme has shown that they can only be truly supported through the involvement of dedicated educators who can help identify, motivate, and provide practical advice to these students to help unlock their potential. This is why this scholarship programme for teachers is so important – it creates an opportunity for them to come together, exchange knowledge, and share their experiences. 

At the opening event last week, teachers specialising in a variety of subjects from art, physics, and mathematics, to Hungarian language and literature, and tourism gathered at the MOME campus from all corners of the country, including Nádudvar, Baja, Miskolc, Zalaegerszeg, Nyíregyháza, and the Békéscsaba area. 

The focus of the spring semester's three-session training is to explore different creative learning methods and build a strong community among teachers. The teachers are also encouraged to engage in the exchange of knowledge, collective thinking and the sharing of best practices and local experiences, which they can then integrate into their own teaching strategies. 

During the first session, participants had the chance to meet one another and familiarise themselves with the MOME campus, its offerings, and the details of the ‘Tomorrow Belongs to You’ programme. In the second session, they will take part in a design thinking workshop and gain insight into the university’s talent development initiatives, such as PreMOME and the ‘Jump into the Future’ creative competition for 7th-10th grade students from Hungary and across the border. The third and final session in May will provide an opportunity to dive deeper into creative learning techniques and further expand their knowledge. 

MOME launched the ‘Tomorrow Belongs to You’ programme in autumn 2023, aimed at supporting disadvantaged secondary school students in accessing creative careers. The initiative provides professional and mental support to students to help them pass the admission entrance examination of art higher education institutions. The key to the programme’s effectiveness, however, lies in involving committed teachers who not only motivate but also offer practical advice to help young people unlock their talents. The scholarship programme for teachers, launched last year, is now moving into full gear.

The scholarship programme for teachers is designed to support teachers across the country who help guide their students towards further education with enthusiasm and creative methods. The scholarship provides monthly financial support, professional training, travel grants, education development tools, and knowledge-sharing platforms for participants. It also enables teachers to become part of an inspiring community where they can collaborate on workshops to develop methods for creating opportunities for disadvantaged young people.
