MOME Photography MA Diploma Exhibition 2026

On 1 September, the 2026 graduates of the MOME Photography MA will debut their work at the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center. Their diploma exhibition offers an opportunity to discover the latest masterworks and explore the contemporary photographic and social questions they raise.

Home is both a point of departure and an ongoing search. It is a place we return to, leave behind, or attempt to create again and again. More than a collection of walls and rooms, it is a fabric of relationships, memories, and experiences that shapes the way we inhabit the world. As philosopher Emanuele Coccia suggests, home is not simply something that surrounds us, but a way of relating to people, objects, and environments that has the power to transform our very mode of being.

From this broader understanding of home, the exhibitors' diploma projects explore its many layers and meanings. Through personal narratives, family and generational memories, childhood experiences, and the search for identity, the works guide us through the inner and outer spaces we call home. The projects also raise questions about leaving home and redefining what it means to belong. They explore the desire to reconnect with nature and freedom, the urge to learn and discover, the legacy of history, dreams of the future, as well as the role of chance encounters and unpredictable situations in our lives. Through these personal and collective experiences, photography becomes a tool for remembering, understanding, and reinterpreting the world around us.

For two years, the exhibitors have called the spaces and classrooms of MOME, as well as the Photography MA community, their home. Their diploma exhibition marks the end of this shared chapter while opening the door to a new one.

The exhibition will be opened by Zsófi Kemény, poet, writer and screenwriter.
