Neurodiversity refers to the natural variation in how the human nervous system works. This means that we all think, learn, and communicate in different ways. Neurodivergent forms of neurological functioning, such as autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning difficulties, are also part of this diversity.
MOME respects the dignity, individuality, and right to learn of every student. The university is committed to providing an accepting and supportive environment for neurodivergent students.

As a MOME student, you also have access to Microsoft 365 tools. Their customisable features can support more accessible learning, including:
- Focus mode – helps reduce distractions
- Dark mode – reduces visual strain
- Immersive Reader – improves readability and reading comprehension
- Dictation – enables speech-to-text input
- Integrated AI features, including Copilot

The Campus offers different types of spaces, so everyone can find the setting that works best for them. The home spaces can be adapted freely by students, while the quiet pods provide an adjustable sensory environment to support undisturbed work.
Academic equal opportunities
Students with specific educational needs may be eligible for academic adjustments under the university’s Equal Opportunities Policy. To apply, students need an expert opinion confirming their specific educational need.
An expert opinion alone does not automatically mean that adjustments will be granted. These are decided by the Academic Committee in accordance with the Equal Opportunities Policy.
- If a specific educational need was already identified during secondary education, this can be evidenced for higher education purposes through a valid expert opinion.
- If a specific educational need was identified previously but the expert opinion is missing, or if a required review was not completed, a new expert opinion must be requested from ELTE Gyakorló Országos Pedagógiai Szakszolgálat (ELTE National Practice-Based Pedagogical Support Service).
- If the specific educational need was not identified during secondary education, it can later can be evidenced by an expert opinion issued by ELTE Gyakorló Országos Pedagógiai Szakszolgálat (ELTE National Practice-Based Pedagogical Support Service).
- Applicants who are not Hungarian citizens can evidence their specific educational needs with a certified translation of an expert opinion issued abroad.
Where can I get support outside the university?
The concept of neurodiversity helps acknowledge diversity and emphasise the rejection of stigma. At the same time, diagnostic assessments and evaluations play an important role in building self-awareness and ensuring access to appropriate support. The institutions listed below offer assessments and support that can help you get started.
