MOME Leftover Materials Bank
The MOME Leftover Materials Bank promotes the reuse of high-quality leftover materials generated in the Home Spaces and at TechPark. MARI sorts leftover materials by size and material quality, following a structure designed and developed as part of a Course Week course in response to student needs. At the Leftover Materials Bank, students from all programmes can work with a wide range of materials, opening up new ways of application and encouraging experimentation.
MARI is organised into six main material groups: wood, metal, paper, textile, plastic, and miscellaneous, using colour coding and storage compartments. Students and staff can drop off and pick up leftover materials free of charge, 24/7.
Leftover materials are continuously generated through projects and events across the university. The aim is to align MARI’s operation with busier periods in the academic year producing larger volumes of waste and leftover materials.
