Our Foundation has established the Future Potentials Observatory Nonprofit LLC in January 2023. Its mission is to investigate, analyse and present the future potentials of social entities (such as family, organization, country), geopolitical frontiers, innovation horizons, design futures and digital futures – all in an EAST-WEST context.
The holistic concept of future potential expresses the readiness of social entities (e.g. family, organization, country) in terms of their ability to preserve a good life for their members in a unity of order through the strategic management of future changes.
The foundations for good life is provided by peace and order, attachment and community, care and generativity, balance and health, while changes appear and require strategic management in the fields of ecology-geopolitics, technology, socio-economy and culture.

Introducing the Digital Futures Project, a project which seeks to analyse and evaluate global measurement systems with special regards to aspects of future potentials.
Introducing the Design Futures Project, an initiative that aims to dispel misconceptions related to design, map intersections between digital culture and design, analyse micro- and macrotrends in visual culture, and investigate the future of material wellbeing.
Introducing the Geopolitical Frontiers Project - a comprehensive initiative that explores the historical, cultural, and political frontiers in an East-West context.
Introducing the Innovation Horizons Project – a comprehensive initiative that explores innovation horizons in an East-West context.
Introducing the Future Potentials Project - a project dedicated to investigating, analysing and presenting the future potentials of social entities.
Within the framework of this project, we apply the concept of future potential to diagnose for-profit and non-profit organisations and to identify directions for organisational development.

The Future Potential Observatory is organising its sixth international workshop. At the event, FPO researchers will present their findings and discuss future research directions. This workshop will focus on two projects: Future Potentials and Geopolitical Frontiers.
The Future Potentials Observatory invites you to a Speaker Series event titled “FPO TALKS” presented by César A. Hidalgo, professor at the Toulouse School of Economics’ (TSE) Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences and head of the Center for Collective Learning, a multidisciplinary research laboratory with offices at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAST) at TSE and the Corvinus Institute of Advanced Studies (CIAS) at Corvinus University of Budapest. He is an Honorary Professor at the Alliance Manchester Business School of the University of Manchester.

Bartel’s research interests lie in US foreign relations, the global Cold War, grand strategy, and the history of capitalism.
