The Stipendium Hungaricum programme is a scholarship founded by the Hungarian State, including a full tuition fee waiver and many other benefits, for international students from specific non-EU partner countries who wish to study in Hungary.
It is available on five continents in over 90 countries, attracting tens of thousands of international students each year. For more information about the scholarship programme please visit https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/
Please pay particular attention as not all countries’ citizens can apply for all of our programmes. This will depend on the bilateral agreement between the governments of the sending countries and Hungary.
Eligibility criteria
You can apply for scholarships and study programmes that are available based on the bilateral education agreements between Hungary and your home country’s partner organization.

Benefits of the scholarship
100% tuition fee coverage
Monthly amount of HUF 43,700 (cca EUR 110) contribution to the living expenses in Hungary, for 12 months a year, until the completion of studies.
Free dormitory place or a contribution of HUF 40,000/month to accommodation costs for the whole duration of the scholarship period.
Health care services and supplementary medical insurance for up to HUF 65,000 (cca 170 EUR) a year (according to the relevant Hungarian legislation Act LXXX of 1997, national health insurance card).
Please note that the scholarship only partially covers living expenses, so students may need additional funds.

The scholarship application is completed on the Tempus Public Foundation’s DreamApply application platform.
2.step
Technical checks and nominations by home country
During February and March 2026.
3.step
MOME admission procedure for SH applicants
- Portfolio selection after nomination – End of March
- Admission interview with selected applicant – Mid-April

MOME admission procedures
Your institutional admission process’s 1st step (portfolio submission) will be completed during your scholarship application between 14 November 2025 – 15 January 2026.
The 2nd part (admission interview) will be scheduled in April 2026.
